This page explains the differences between purchasing directly on civaraworkshop.com, purchasing through our Etsy shop, and purchasing through Faire for wholesale. It tells you what protections apply on each platform, how pricing and taxes may differ, and when to use which channel. It also confirms our compliance with platform rules so you can buy with confidence on whichever channel you choose. --- ## PART A – CIVARA WORKSHOP’S DIRECT WEBSITE: CIVARAWORKSHOP.COM ### A1. The Primary Channel civaraworkshop.com is CIVARA WORKSHOP’s primary direct-to-consumer platform. It is where our full product range is available, where the most detailed product information, policy pages, and customisation guidance are published, and where the most direct communication with Hilal Ahmad Goona and the workshop team takes place. Orders placed directly on civaraworkshop.com are governed in full by the policies published on this website – including the Terms of Service, Returns Policy, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, and all other pages in this policy suite. **Payment:** Processed via Razorpay (primary) and PayPal (secondary). **Buyer protection:** CIVARA WORKSHOP’s own policies apply – including our made-to-order cancellation windows, our production error remedy framework, and our grievance redressal process. No additional third-party buyer protection scheme applies to direct website orders beyond what is provided by your card issuer or PayPal’s buyer protection for PayPal-processed orders. **Taxes:** All international orders are zero-rated exports under Indian GST, so no Indian GST is charged. Our Etsy Shop CIVARA WORKSHOP operates an Etsy shop at ****. The Etsy shop carries a selection of CIVARA WORKSHOP’s product range. Buyers who are already active Etsy users, who prefer the familiarity of the Etsy platform, or who value the additional buyer protections that Etsy provides may prefer to purchase through the Etsy channel. ### B2. How Etsy Orders Work When you place an order through our Etsy shop, your transaction is processed by Etsy Payments – Etsy’s own integrated payment system – not by Razorpay or PayPal; your contract for the purchase is formed with CIVARA WORKSHOP as the seller, subject to our Etsy shop policies and Etsy’s own Terms of Use; our made-to-order production process, specification confirmation procedure, and production lead times are the same on Etsy as on civaraworkshop.com; and shipping is dispatched from the same Srinagar address using the same carrier. ### B3. Etsy Purchase Protection Etsy operates a **Purchase Protection programme** that provides additional protection to buyers on qualifying orders. Under Etsy’s Purchase Protection, if your order does not arrive, arrives damaged, or arrives significantly different from the listing description, you may be eligible for a refund of up to **USD 250** per qualifying order, funded by Etsy. Etsy Purchase Protection operates independently of our seller policies – Etsy may grant a buyer refund in qualifying circumstances even where our policy framework would not provide for a return. CIVARA WORKSHOP fully cooperates with Etsy’s Purchase Protection process and will provide all requested documentation promptly. ### B4. Etsy VAT and Tax Handling – EU and UK Buyers Etsy is a **deemed supplier** (marketplace facilitator) for VAT and GST purposes in a number of jurisdictions, including the European Union and the United Kingdom. Where that applies, Etsy collects and remits the destination VAT or GST on qualifying orders at checkout, under Etsy’s own registration, rather than the buyer being contacted at the border. Etsy-managed VAT is visible in your order total at checkout on Etsy. On direct civaraworkshop.com orders, import duty and import VAT or GST for your destination are now also included at checkout and remitted on your behalf at import (see our Pricing, Taxes, VAT and Import Duties page), so EU and UK buyers pay nothing further at the border on direct orders either. The practical difference between the two channels is therefore narrower than it once was: - On both channels, destination VAT or GST is handled at checkout, not at the border. - On civaraworkshop.com, the destination customs duty is **also** prepaid at checkout. Etsy collects VAT or GST but does not prepay customs duty, so for a higher-value consignment an Etsy order may still incur import duty at the border that a direct order would have included. ### B5. Etsy TCS/TDS – Information for Indian Buyers For Indian buyers purchasing through our Etsy shop, and for information purposes: Etsy withholds and remits **Tax Collected at Source (TCS)** and **Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)** to Indian tax authorities on qualifying transactions in accordance with Indian tax law applicable to e-commerce operators. These withholdings are reflected in CIVARA WORKSHOP’s tax reconciliation; they do not result in any additional charge to Indian buyers beyond what is reflected in the order total at checkout. ### B6. Etsy Reviews Reviews left on our Etsy shop are governed by Etsy’s review system and Etsy’s review policy. They are independent of the review system on civaraworkshop.com. Etsy reviews reflect the experiences of buyers on the Etsy channel specifically. We cannot edit, delete, or respond privately to Etsy reviews outside of Etsy’s own platform tools. Our response to any Etsy review – positive or negative – is posted publicly through Etsy’s seller response feature. ### B7. Fee Avoidance – Important Notice Etsy’s Terms of Use prohibit sellers from directing buyers who discovered CIVARA WORKSHOP through Etsy to complete the same transaction through civaraworkshop.com or any other channel for the purpose of avoiding Etsy’s transaction or listing fees.
